I put together this list for some of my LSAT students. These resources are all you need to do well on the LSAT. No expensive classes needed.
NOTE: I am not currently updating this page – apologies for any broken or outdated links.
Books
10 Actual LSAT Books
There are a lot of different LSAT courses, books, and methods. No matter which ones you pick, they are all useless if you don’t take practice tests. In fact, you could probably skip all of the fancy (and expensive) courses and just take practice tests and do just fine on the LSAT. The books linked here are the best bang for your buck – for around $20, you get 10 real past LSAT tests to practice on. Take them the right way – under time pressure, with pencil and paper, in the morning.
The LSAT Trainer
Probably the best LSAT book on the market right now. Working through the 10,000-page Powerscore books might feel productive, but Mike Kim gets right to the things you need to know about the LSAT. (Not that the Powerscore books are necessarily bad, they are actually pretty solid from what I’ve heard) Read the first chapter here.
Websites
7Sage
The paid 7Sage online course is great, but you don’t need to pay money to get a ton of value out of 7Sage. The website has great Logic Games explanations posted for free. Watching JY from 7Sage walk through logic games is a great way to check your work.
LSATHacks
Where 7Sage has great free explanations for the logic games, LSATHacks has great free explanations for everything (although not in video form). These explanations show why the right answers are right, but more importantly, they show why the wrong answers are wrong.
Khan Academy LSAT
This didn’t exist when I was studying for the LSAT, so I have no idea how helpful it is. But there are a lot of good signs: it’s free, it’s official, and it uses an algorithm to help you review. However, I would strongly recommend against taking the LSAT on a screen, at least until the actual test goes digital.
/r/LSAT
Lots of LSAT discussion, although not all of the posts are helpful. But check out the sidebar for lots of great links and resources.
